If I had known, as a little girl, that when I grew up coloring would be a grown-up pastime, I don’t believe I would have feared adulthood quite so much.
One of the blessings of loving to write is the opportunity to tell about things you love. In my case, I am doubly blessed because of Tyndale’s blog review program, which allows me to receive free pre-released books in exchange for an honest review. So far, I haven’t received a book I don’t like, so it works great for me!
(By the way, if you’re interested in getting in on the goods, check out this link. You won’t be disappointed if you like free books as much as I do, and Tyndale is quite particular about choosing only the sorts of books that won’t waste your time.)
The book Gratitude: A Prayer and Praise Coloring Journal, is just beyond words. Maybe that’s why it’s taken me so long to write this review for it. (That, and I’m slightly embarrassed to be reviewing a coloring book, but that’s my problem:)
The only thing better than picking up this book and enjoying every page was to give it to my friend Callie, who agreed it was made for her. Every page was gorgeous and encouraging. She is an amazing artist and journaler, and I picked out this book with her in mind.
If you love writing or doodling, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more perfect journal. If I could change anything about this little masterpiece, it would be to change the verses to King James. I never can get over hearing verses I’ve memorized quoted in other words.
Of course, if this book had been any more perfect, I wouldn’t have had the strength to part with it. Which would mean Callie wouldn’t have gotten a gift…and I would be coloring right now rather than writing this overdue blog post.
It all works out. 🙂
